Marin County Fairfax Library
As part of the redesigned landscape at Marin County’s Fairfax Library, Native Water Systems designed a family-friendly rain garden that welcomes visitors as they arrive. Whether people pause to gather or simply walk by, everyone is invited to engage with a new kind of story — one that inspires climate action and everyday water stewardship.
Accomplished:
1.
Family-Friendly Gathering Space - a welcoming, interactive landscape feature that invites children and adults to explore, gather, and connect with the story of water.
2.
Functional Stormwater Capture - Designed to manage runoff from surrounding hardscape, the rain garden filters and infiltrates water - turning a passive landscape into an active climate adaptation tool.
3.
Public Education through Design - A visible, everyday demonstration of green stormwater infrastructure that sparks curiosity and empowers community members to become stewards of their local water systems.
