“Healthy communities do not send water away; they embrace living with it.”
— Apryl Uncapher, FOUNDER
Water is life. It’s simple AND it’s complex. Water connects everything: ecosystems, communities, climate, and survival. Yet most modern landscapes are designed to move water away as quickly as possible, concentrating runoff, pollution, and heat, while depleting the very systems that sustain us. The result? We are amplifying the very challenges we’re trying to solve ~ drought, flood, fire risk, and habitat loss.
A different approach. Instead of pushing water away, we design systems that hold it, slow it, and return it to the soil. By working with natual processes and enhancing them with thoughtful design and technology, we create space that ~ store and clean water, support life, rehabilitate climate cycles, and strengthen community.
Living infrastructure. We design integrated water systems that function as both infrastructure and experience ~ scalable, visible, effective, and beautiful. Whether you are shaping policy, building communities, or stewarding land — water connects your work.
1%
of the planet’s water is useable fresh water. From this small amount we share globally, 1/3 is used for energy production. Saving energy saves water!
30%
of that same small global supply of fresh water is spent for irrigation. Much of this could be substituted with graywater and rainwater harvesting.
100%
of your actions - big or small - can shape a more resilient water future!
Be the Change.
Native Water Systems would love to help you be a dynamic change-agent and guide your journey of transforming town, library, neighborhood, or home into a water-resilient community! With over two decades of skills and experience, we are ready for any project you can imagine.
